All about UGC NET | The UGC NET is a national level eligibility test for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor or Both, in Indian Universities and Colleges.
The UGC NET will consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both of the papers are of Objective types and there is no negative marking. There is no break between paper 1 and paper 2.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for UGC NET
General/ Unreserved/ General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities and Social Science(including languages), Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.
The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Transgender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
Moreover, Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination. Such candidates must complete their Master degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
AGE LIMIT AND RELAXATION for UGC NET
For Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit.
For JRF: Not more than 30 years. A relaxation of 5 years is provided to reserved categories candidates.

Can i submit the UGC NET form in offline mode?
Candidates can apply for UGC NET 2020 in online mode only. The application form in another mode is not acceptable.

What is the total duration of examination in UGC NET?
The total duration is 3 hours. 1 hour for first paper and 2 hour for second paper.

No. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
